Julie's degree in Art Therapy guides her art. For years she has focused on uniting clay and painting. Working with mid-fire stoneware on a potter's wheel and using hand-building techniques, she paints imagery on it unfired. After a bisque firing, she adds a medley of commercial and hand-mixed glazes, then fires it a second and sometimes third time. Missouri nature surroundings inspire much of her work.
