Jennifer Wolken

"I love the scope of book binding as a medium because you can use any material, you can translate the form so many different ways, there is still so much room to innovate in a form that already has such a rich history" Jennifer writes. A native of the Missouri Ozarks, Jennifer has been making books for 22 years. A graduate from Southwest Missouri State University, she holds bachelor's degrees in graphic design and painting. Jennifer loves the functionality of books as a usable art form. Her handmade leather-wrap books of heavy, acid-free paper focus on unique bindings, hand sewn with Irish linen thread. Although all books are in the same "family," Jennifer's subtle details give each one its own personality.
